Alright guys, I need some input on miter saws. I'm going to get a 12" but it basically boils down to brand and whether I get a slider or not. If cost were no object I'd get the Bosch but I'm not pro and also don't have $600 laying around when $300-$400 will get me a dang good one. I'm a DIYer but will be (hopefully) doing some finish work myself. I'm looking at:
Hitachi 12" compound - $230
Hitachi 12" sliding compound - $370
Makita 12" compound - $295
Bosch 12" compound - discontinued but found it for $260
Will I want a sliding one? Good or bad experiences with certain brands? Any particularly good or bad at keeping square?
