I wanted to put a thread out there for people to put their favorite charities; it is the season of giving, but my wife would tell you that must be something that I am doing outside the bedroom. Jokes aside, please put charities on here that you support.
My go to is the Gary Sinise Foundation, which has a mission to serve Service Members, First Responders, and their families. It is highly rated by charity watchdogs. I first became aware of it in 2011, when Gary brought his fundraising band, The Lieutenant Dan Band, to Fort Riley and a few people told me about it. This is a phenomenal organization that has done amazing work for those who have served our country.
My next favorite is the KC Pet Project or any local no-kill shelter that is highly rated by charity watchdogs.
I have a couple others that are political, so I won't list them unless one of you ****s makes this political and sends this thread to the dirty underworld. Please respect the nonpolitical aspect of what charities do and keep this civil. Organizations could greatly benefit from being discovered by new people in this thread.
I encourage all of you to donate, even a dollar, to charity or two that you learn about today in this thread.
