this afternoon at Joe's KC Bar-B-Que in Olathe. He was sporting his K-State warm-ups and a purple Cats mask.
He was a very polite, humble and an extremely impressive young man.
Nothing earth shattering, but here's a couple gems I picked up in our short conversation while going through the order line:
* Nate said he's up to 230 lbs. since getting to Manhattan, and they want him playing at 240 lbs.
* He smiled and nodded when I asked, "You were the first guy to commit in the 2020 class, right?"
* It sounds like all the malcontents and those that weren't 100% committed to the team culture have left the program.
* He is excited about getting back and getting at it in preparation for next season.
Count me in as a huge Nate Matlack fan!
