Transfer RB to watch for K-State

Tim Verghese of our Nebraska site just reported (and I can confirm) that North Dakota State RB Char'Mar Brown is set to visit K-State later this week after he takes trips to Nebraska and California. He also visited Miami earlier.

Brown, a native of Omaha, Neb., rushed for 1,181 yards and 15 touchdowns last season and is one of the top running backs on the market. Getting him on campus is the first step, but my understanding is that it will be difficult to pry him away from those other schools. Miami sources have indicated they're selling Brown on a major role within the offense, and a school like California desperately needs another running back after multiple portal entries. K-State needs RB depth after a Gabe Ervin injury which could be season-ending.

Coach Tang's "plan"?

I see comments by many, and perhaps I'm just not checking out the right place....but I haven't seen a Coach Tang comment, much less a press conference type interview regarding the stability (or lack thereof) of our men's basketball team/roster. Quite evident there are multiple issues/problems, but perhaps the noise could be tampered with a current update. This is not looking like a "Houston deal". Mrs. Ron

Tracking K-State's spring portal entries

K-State, like most teams across the country, likely has to cut its roster down to 105 before the 2025-26 season begins. As a result, teams are going to nudge a lot of players in the transfer portal from the bottom of their roster.

I don't expect K-State to lose many key contributors, but it's still worthwhile to track who's in the portal from last year's team...

K-State Portal Entries (As of 4/18):

OT Brandon Sneh - 2024 Stats:
N/A
S Noah King - 2024 stats: N/A
RB LaJames White - 2024 stats: 4 GP; 1 att, 12 yards, 1 TD
OL Brock Woolf - 2024 Stats: 0 GP
WR Trae Davis - 2024 Stats: 0 GP
WR Zayden Martinez - 2024 Stats: 0 GP

Jumping ahead of any potential Avery Johnson rumors

With Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava entering the transfer portal, you’re going to inevitably see a lot of rumors about Avery Johnson entering the portal.

While I’ve heard that Tennessee has contacted Johnson, I wouldn’t worry. Johnson is fairly locked into K-State and is compensated nicely in terms of NIL. If things change, I’ll let you know but I wouldn’t worry if you see any rumors — Johnson wants to be at K-State and likes it in Manhattan.
