Jerome Tang's statement on Cam Carter and Dorian Finister entering the portal

K-State put out a statement about Cam Carter and Dorian Finister officially entering the portal. That statement included a quote from Jerome Tang:

“We are thankful for all the hard work and dedication that Cam and Dorian gave to our program the past two seasons. They both played significant roles in helping us win 45 games and advance to consecutive postseason appearances, including the Elite Eight in 2023. They will forever be Wildcats and we wish them the best as they move forward in their playing careers.”

Mutual interest between a player in the portal…

I’ve heard there is some mutual interest between UIC transfer CJ Jones and Kansas State, and it seems the Wildcats are the favorites to land Jones.

His stats are a little underwhelming, but watching film on him shows he has tons of potential. He’s got good size as a guard and is extremely athletic.

Some info on 2025 LB Weston Polk

Just got off the phone with 2025 LB Weston Polk, who K-State has been recruiting for a while (they were his first P5 offer).

I get the sense that K-State is very much one of, if not, the team to beat for Polk. He's taking his second visit to TCU this weekend, and Iowa State will also get one, but K-State has kept a great relationship with Polk.

I'm not going to set a FutureCast quite yet because he's mentioned that he's still taking the recruitment slow and I don't think this is near the finish line, but I would classify them as the favorites as of today, March 21.

2025 DB Leo Almanza, Jr. sets official visit date with K-State

Just got off the phone with 2025 WR Leo Almanza about his unofficial visit to K-State yesterday.

He mentioned that he locked in an official visit with K-State yesterday for June, which is a good sign for Kansas State.

I'll have an entire article recapping his visit out tomorrow AM, but I wanted to pass along this note so you folks could hear it first.

A Season of Tough Breaks

I think Tang and staff did another decent job of assembling a roster this season. However, there were so many things that happen both on and off the court that cost them wins.:

Losing Tomlin & Glover prior to opener

Final moments at Tech

TCU's last second 3 heavily guarded

Obviously we benefited from some good fortune as well with 7 ot wins. Yet there is little doubt that the sloppy and inconsistant play was too much to overcome.
