Basketball recruiting More recruiting buzz

Was mentioned in the other thread, but would be best in it its own. The Cats seem to be planning for a visitor tomorrow in the 2024 recruiting class, I am in the dark on the name. My two best guesses would be the guys below:

They have wanted Elohim for a while, but Reid might have a faster-paced recruitment right now. Our Georgia site placed a FutureCast for him to Georgia, but I am going to look into that to see what they know.

A new basketball target to keep eye on?

I noted in my previous basketball notebook Jerome Tang wanted to use his final scholarship. I'm hearing that could be used soon.

One player to keep an eye on is Will McNair. He's a former center for Mississippi State. McNair arrived at Providence over the summer with one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate student, but just re-entered the transfer portal earlier this week.

Averaged 3.3 points and 3.3 boards last season for the Bulldogs. Before that, he was at New Mexico State where he graduated in the summer of 2022 with a degree in individualized studies.

Important to note that Director of Video & Analytics, Frank Miskelly, was on the Mississippi State staff last year and has a relationship with McNair.

🏈 Recruiting Update: Grant Brix

Per 247 sports Mike Schaefer,

Brix is expected to make an announcement in two weeks time at most. He wants to make a decision before the start of his senior year he informed 247. Says he isn’t going to do anything flashy (post about it, or stream his commitment). Just going to call the coaches and let them know. So if you’re seeing a “bring on the cats” from Taylor Braet in the next two weeks it’s probably Brix. 😬🤞

Most insiders are saying it’s down to Nebraska and Kansas State. Leaning towards Nebraska (close to family, family works in Nebraska is what I herd, & goes there a bunch. Wants to stay close to home). But he also visited Kansas state 7 times and we were his 1st offer. We also actually win football games. Something Nebraska hasn’t done in over a decade. 🤭

We shall see. But it’s truly a coin flip.
