POST GAME HUB: K-State advances to the Elite 8

RAPID RECAP
POSTGAME PRESS CONFERENCES

Calapari....what an unprofessional a$$

Post game interview and Kentucky head coach Calapari calls our star a "little kid"? What a sore loser, and don't let anyone tell you he "just didn't know his name". Mr. Calapari, Markquis Nowell is twice the man you are. He graciously gave credit (when none was asked for in post game interview) saying credit Kentucky for a hard fought game, they are a very good team. For starters, you'd love to have had Markquis playing for you, bet you'd know his name then. I'm very proud of our Wildcats (both football and basketball) as they present themselves so well in interviews....well coached on and off the field! I may just look up a way to get my point to Calapari, if he had any "balls", he would apologize to Markquis. What whiners Kentucky's coach and team (especially that ox in the middle) turn out to be. The "ox" camped in the paint for at least 5 to 8 seconds repeatedly and was NEVER called for that, no wonder he could rebound! Best of luck in New York, guys. For those of us not able to attend the game, please know we're watching and pulling for you all the way. EMAW Mrs. Ron

Hey Alec....

not a big deal, but if you want to be considered an insider, please don't constantly refer to our sports teams as "Kansas State". I just listened to the latest podcast and 95% of the time you used that phrase. I never hear anyone half way familiar the Wildcats say anything other than "K-State".
Our athletic department brand is "K-State". Our athletic department made that decision years ago. What does the big sign on the west side of Bramlege say? What do the two football endzones say? What do you see on the hoops sidelines and underneath the bucket? K-STATE!
BTW, I have lived in Manhattan the last 8 years. I can't recall the last time anyone used the term "Kansas State". It's certainly not offensive, but it's not how local people refer to our athletic teams and the school in general.
BTW, overall you are doing a very good job.

Opinion-A letter to the editor:

To the editor: We need to take back the word "woke" from Republicans. It is not a derogatory word.

Yes, we are woke to the deep systemic racism in our country. We are woke to the injustices meted out to nonwhite citizens. We are woke to the discrimination against Asian people. We resist discrimination against Jews and Muslims and people of all religions.

We are woke to the needs of women and their rights to make decisions about their own bodies. We are woke to the distorted history of our country that doesn't flesh out the history of women and people of color.

We are woke to the imbalance of the tax system and believe people who make millions of dollars per year ought to pay their fair share.

Let's thank the Republicans for broadcasting that we are woke. Now, let's get some of them to wake up and help us solve these pressing problems.

ISH and Defense

Ish not only had his biggest 3 in his life but he played the best defense of his life. He did an excellent job of defending Oscar by keeping him off guard by fronting him and keeping Oscar from getting the ball. Off ball Ish boxed out and kept Oscar from getting a rebound. A great game by Ish as he truly understands the role Coach Tang wants him to play for this team.

Best Kansas State Basketball Win Since…?🏀

2018 KSU as a underdog beats Kentucky in the sweet 16 61-58 (2nd place)

2010
KSU beats Xavier in double OT amazing game (1st place)

2023
KSU beats Kentucky 75-69 to advance to the sweet 16 in a back and forth thriller. Heart over height Nowell delivers one of the best individual performances by a KSU point Guard in modern KSU basketball history (post 89). On top of coach Tang being in his 1st year as a head coach. (3rd place)

Unbelievable story is unfolding and in year 1 Tang has an opportunity to move up that list. I’m so thankful for coach Tang and I hope we get to watch his teams for many years to come. My basketball as a child growing up in Manhattan mostly consisted of watching Asbury and Wooldridge trash KSU basketball. I feel so lucky to call coach Tang my coach right now. The beauty of it is the passion and investment from the staff, it’s not just about the W’s (although of course those help).

What are your top three KSU victories post 89? I went with tournament victories, but you can make an argument for KU victories. Although I’m not going to give them the satisfaction, because I feel like we are bigger than a KU victory these days. We win tournament games now while they sit at home and we split during the regular season. I live in the present 😊.

Beating OU when they were #1 in 2016. When they had an amazing team lead by Buddy Hield comes to mind. Solidifying a spot in the NCAA tournament where they received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. During which they defeated Wake Forest in the First Four to advance to the First Round where they lost to Cincinnati. That year solidified the Brown, Wade, Stokes combo that would go on to win a B12 regular season championship in 18/19.

What else you guys got? Enjoy those W’s baby! I think we are going to see many more in Tang’s tenure! EMAW BABY!! 😈🤟
