In Thursday's game, Markquis Nowell fell to the court and rolled his right ankle before a timeout. He was carried to the bench where team trainers removed his shoe and sock to retape his ankle. He then checked back into the game and helped lead K-State to the Elite 8 with a win over Michigan State.
On Friday, he said that he was up late into the night rehabbing his ankle with ice, stretches and other movements, as well as sleep. He said that his ankle is about 85-90 percent healthy and that he went through practice on Friday as the team prepares to play Florida Atlantic on Saturday evening.
Nowell is expected to play against FAU and in the Wildcats' first three NCAA Tournament games he is averaging an impressive 21 points and 14 assists, which includes setting the school's assist (19) and NCAA Tournament record in the win over Michigan State.
